Xbox and Epic Games will donate all Fortnite revenue to Ukraine

epic games today announcement that the company would donate all revenue generated from the hugely popular video game Fortnite to help humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. Microsoft has also agreed to participate in this initiative and will also donate all Fortnite profits generated on its Xbox consoles.

It’s worth noting that Epic Games and Microsoft are not just donating profits from Fortnite-related sales, but all of the profits generated from the game.

This fundraising initiative in Ukraine will run from March 20 to April 3 and includes the purchase (with real money or store credit, no in-game V-Bucks) of V-Bucks, new subscriptions and renewed at Fortnite Crew, and purchasing the new Chapter 3 Season 2 Battle Pass which will be available in just under an hour.

The value of codes received elsewhere that are redeemed in Fortnite before April 3 will also be included.

The announcement post currently lists UNICEF, Direct Relief, the United Nations World Food Program and TUNHCR as the first organizations to receive funds, although it also indicates that other groups will be added in the future. .

For those who don’t want to support Ukraine, Epic Games makes their position pretty clear.

In addition to the above initiative to support Ukraine, Epic Games has also recently halted sales in Russia while refraining from suspending services entirely. Ironically, this decision now means that Fortnite players in Russia who are against the invasion will not be able to support Ukraine like the rest of the world.

Microsoft has also pledged to suspend several aspects of its business in Russia in a bid to pressure the government to consider stopping its attacks.

As for Fortnite’s latest Battle Pass, this is one of the few times where almost nothing leaked before the update which is now rolling out to Xbox consoles, Windows PCs and all other platforms. supported forms. There are rumors that Marvel’s Doctor Strange could be part of the Battle Pass and other members of The Seven will appear. Everything will be revealed soon.
