Stock markets next week: Britannia LIC IPO, Q4 HDFC results and US FOMC meeting, 20 triggers that could impact market movement

Scholarships next week: Stock markets are set to witness some big action next week as many major events are scheduled, although it will be a truncated week due to the Id-Ul-Fitra holiday which falls on May 3 ( tuesday). Kushal Gupta of Zee Business brings a list of major events that could impact market movement over the four trading sessions.

Here is the list of key events:

1) Monday May 2, 2022 – Q4 2022 results: Important results, including Britannia Industries and HDFC Limited from the Nifty50 Index, will be announced that day. In the Futures & Options (F&O) space, Alembic Pharma and Mahindra & Mahindra Finance will also be declared.

2) New margin rules will come into effect from May 2.

3) Rakesh Jha will take over as full time manager of ICICI Bank.

4) Ex date of Rs 25/share dividend from Foseco India.

5) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin his visits to Germany, Denmark and France. His visits will take place from May 2 to May 4.

6) Stock markets in Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Russia and the UK will remain closed on this day.

7) Tuesday May 3 – Q4 2022 results: Among the Nifty50 companies, Tata Steel, Hero MotoCorp and Titan will announce their March quarter results. In the F&O segment, Godrej Properties and Adani Enterprises will report their results.

8) Indian stock markets will remain closed due to Id-Ul-Fitra on this day. Markets in Singapore, China and Japan will also remain closed.

9) Wednesday May 4 – Q4 2022 results: Kotak Mahindra Bank and Tata Consumer Products will release their fourth quarter results. In the F&O space, ABB India, Deepak Nitrite will announce their results.

10) The highly anticipated IPO of LIC will open on this day. The size of the IPO id Rs 21000 cr and the price range is Rs 902-Rs 949 per share.

11) Ex date of the interim dividend of Gateway Distriparks of Rs 1.25.

12) The US FOMC statement will be released this week.

13) Stock markets in China and Japan will remain closed on this day.

14) Thursday May 5 – Q4 2022 results: In the F&O space, the results of Cholamandalam Investment, Dabur and Exide Industries will be announced.

15) Markets in Japan and South Korea will remain closed on this day.

16) The results of TVS Motors and Voltas will be announced.

17) The Bank of England will announce its decision on interest rates.

18) Friday May 6 – Q4 2022 Results: In the F&O space, Canara Bank, Federal Bank and Tata Power will report their results.

19) Ex date of the interim dividend of Vedanta limited of Rs 31.50.

20) Ex date of the CRISIL interim dividend of Rs 7.

Indian stock markets ended the week in the red. The BSE Sensex fell more than 460 points or 0.8% to settle at 57060.87 while the Nifty50 ended at 17102.55, down 142 points or 0.8%. Bank Nifty fell almost 1% or 334 points to close at 36088.15.

The correction was seen even in the broader markets, with the Nifty Midcap 100 falling more than 250 points to end the last weekly trading session at 29880.35.
