Flipkart Wholesale will revamp its business operations

Flipkart Wholesale, the business-to-business arm of the namesake group, will revamp its business operations to cut costs and increase investment in the business.

As part of the reorganization, all Flipkart Wholesale employees, other than those in merchandising and basic operations, will become part of Flipkart’s respective group functions, expanding their careers and growth opportunities, the based company announced on Monday. in Bengaluru.

“With this move, we reinforce our commitment to growing the business by focusing on core business areas and leveraging the capabilities of our core resources,” said Adarsh ​​Menon, senior vice president. and head of Flipkart Wholesale. “At the same time, we are committed to offering long-term career paths to our employees. With this development, Flipkart Wholesale employees will transition to Flipkart in new group-level roles and responsibilities.”

Flipkart Wholesale supplies merchandise mainly to kirana (corner) stores and competes with Udaan, Amazon, and JioMart.

In July 2020, the company took over Walmart India, which operated the Best Price wholesale cash-and-carry business. She launched the B2B online store the following month.

Besides the grocery category, which caters primarily to kirana stores, the company also operates a fashion category as well as a general merchandise category. These include home accessories, kitchenware, storage, toys, luggage, sports and fitness categories.
