Asia’s major stock markets closed in positive territory on Monday as fears of recession eased the tightening policies of global central banks.
The Asia Dow, which includes the region’s blue chip companies, added 60 points, or 1.87%, to 3,274 at 1007 GMT.
Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 stock exchange rose 379.3 points, or 1.43%, to 26,871 points.
The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks traded on the Hong Kong stock exchange, was the day’s best performer, up 510.5 points, or 2.35%, to 22,229.
China’s Shanghai Stock Exchange climbed 29.4 points, or 0.88%, to close at 3,379 points.
Profits of China’s major industrial companies rose 1% year-on-year in the first five months of 2022, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics.
The benchmark Indian Sensex gained 452.2 points, or 0.86%, to end the day at 53,180.
The Singapore index gained 25.9 points, or 0.83%, to end at 3,137 points.
